Superbikes Move On To Thailand

After a four-week break, the World Superbike Championship resumes at the Buriram Chang International Circuit in Thailand, with Ondra Jezek once more taking to the grid.

The Czech rider has his own tradition of taking a weeks acclimatisation before the Thai round, this year on the island of Koh Tao. “After the race in Australia, everything was very hectic especially with the Motosalon exhibition in Brno, so I was glad to be able to switch off a bit and concentrate on myself. I have been doing a lot of training and believe I’m going to be be in good shape for the race”.  On top of everything Ondra managed to deal with the small matter of proposing to his long-term girlfriend, Šárka, who thankfully said yes ! “There were a lot of nerves beforehand but I managed to keep it secret :-)”.

Ondra shall be making his third ever start at the Chang circuit this weekend and the second in the Superbike category. It was at this round, last year, when he took the first world championship points of his WSBK career. This seasons opening race, in Australia, saw Ondra struggling with front end problems on his Guandalini Racing team Yamaha.  “I couldn’t make the turns at Philip Island but it seems that everything in Buriram shall be all right and I’m looking forward getting on the bike on Friday to try it,” he said
